System Administrator/Software Manager.

  • Managed network and desktop software for 350+ workstations and servers for refinery operation.
  • Oversaw software/hardware departmental budget in excess of $400,000 on an annual basis.
  • Provided direction for PC hardware support team and one programmer.
  • Created software installation packages (MSI) using “Wise for Windows Installer 3.0 through 4.2.” These were for windows 9x, 2000, and XP.
  • Mastered software rollout methodology by distributing software packages to desktops using software I wrote in Visual Basic 6.0. This software read the system registry to determine installation state of software and started the installation as needed.
  • Used SMS and Altiris along with my own software to distribute installation packages.
  • Software packages included Citrix Metaframe, Aspen Suite, Chempro, Railcar Management, IBM Personal communications, Reflections and many more. These installations required no user intervention.
  • Created custom Transform Files (MST) for Microsoft and other shrink wrapped product installations that used the MSI format.
  • Migrated CC:MAIL to MS OUTLOOK with automated settings migration.
  • Wrote software to migrate PC personality as users received new computers.
  • Developed technical operational standards through successful team influence for Tulsa location.
  • Troubleshot software problems, interfaced with vendors, maintained license count and ensured license compliance.
  • Wrote security software that used inexpensive computers to provide near live pictures to all desktops. This software included recording capability.
